CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield County Commissioners voted, 2-0, to approve a resolution in respect to TEFRA financing for Christ the King Manor of DuBois during its meeting Tuesday.
County Solicitor Kim Kesner last week received correspondence from Attorney James Webster of Houston & Harbaugh, Attorneys at Law, Pittsburgh, who is serving at bond counsel for Christ the King Manor.
Officials at Christ the King Manor are currently in the process of financing the construction of a new, 24-unit apartment building for the elderly at their campus, explained Kesner.
According to him, this will be the second apartment building that officials have constructed at the Christ the King Manor campus. They had a similar project back in 2013, he said.
Financing for this new construction, he said, is through the issuance of a Private Activity Bond (PAB) by the board at the Clearfield County Industrial Development Authority (CCIDA).
Kesner said because it’s going to be used for private purposes, TEFRA, the commissioners are required to approve it. He said he’d reviewed both documents contained within the resolution from Webster and recommended their approval.
Commissioners Tony Scotto, acting chair, and Mark B. McCracken voted in favor. Commissioner John A. Sobel left the meeting prior to the vote in order to handle other county business.
