Authorities have responded to a Walmart in Amarillo, Texas, amid reports of an armed person inside the store “who may have hostages,” the Amarillo police said Tuesday.
Residents are being asked to avoid the area.
The Randall County Sheriff’s Office posted on its Facebook page that one person is armed inside the store and has taken at least one person hostage.
Multiple agencies are on the scene. Law enforcement has not been able to ascertain if anyone has been injured, the post said.
