WOODLAND – The Allegheny Spay & Neuter Clinic/Animal Welfare Council will hold its annual plant/yard sale and rabies clinic on June 18.
The plant/yard sale will be held from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. and the rabies clinic will be held from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
The events will be held at the Allegheny Spay & Neuter Clinic, 1380 Shawville Hwy., Woodland (beside the Woodland Post Office), where there is plenty of parking.
Numerous yard sale items and plants will be available for sale again this year, including flowering potted-planters; flowers – both perennials and annuals; herbs, shrubs, house plants; and vegetable plants just in time for spring planting.
Many donations of yard sale items and plants have been received already and are still welcome up until the day of the sale.
Anyone wanting to donate should call 814-857-5280. There will also be door prizes and additional vendors who are scheduled to be available during the event.
All vendors are welcome and anyone interested in setting up a table should call 814857-5280.
There will be food available, including pierogis, homemade soups, halushki and baked goods.
New 2016 “Be Kind to Animals” T-shirts, designed by area youth, and the new 2015-16 AWC Membership Discount Cards will also be available at the event for a $10 yearly membership fee.
The cards have discounts for local businesses and restaurants that are good through May of 2017. The public is invited to become members of the AWC and purchase the membership discount card to support area needy animals.
At the clinic, the rabies vaccine will be administered by Dr. John Thomas and the cost is $12 per animal.
Proceeds from the plant/yard sale/rabies clinic will benefit needy animals in this area. The AWC is a non-profit and all donations are greatly appreciated and tax deductible.
