State police at Clearfield
- State police investigated an alleged incident of indecent assault that occurred April 3 at the State Correctional Institution at Houtzdale in Woodward Township. Further, an inmate had made a report that he was sexually assaulted by a corrections officer during a routine search prior to him entering the law library in the academic building. The search was conducted due to the inmate previously stealing items and copying fake passes, state police said. Upon investigation state police determined the CO followed the correct protocol and didn’t sexually assault or harass the inmate.
State police at Philipsburg
- State police received a wallet that was found Friday on North Front Street in Philipsburg Borough. Further, state police located its owner and returned it.
State police at DuBois
- State police learned that on May 3 a 50-year-old man failed to register under the requirements of Megan’s Law required for transients. It was later found out that the man had died April 14.
- State police received a report about the alleged theft of services Tuesday on Interstate 80 eastbound in Union Township. During the incident, a Columbus, Ohio man was parked along I-80 and state police stopped to see if he needed any assistance. He advised state police that he was out of gas, and they notified a towing service. Upon arrival a towing service provided him gasoline, and he provided a credit card for payment. When an employee of the towing service went back to their vehicle, the man fled the area and his credit card was declined. However, he was located by state police at Clearfield and lodged in the county Jail to await arraignment for theft of services.
State police at Punxsutawney
- State police received a report about a domestic simple assault that occurred Monday on Elderberry Hill Road in Bell Township. During the incident, a Punxsutawney male engaged in an argument with the victim and allegedly subjected her to unwanted physical contact. The male was arrested for simple assault and harassment, and the victim was also cited for harassment. State police are continuing their investigation of the incident at this time.
