CLEARFIELD – The Alex Vezza/Clearfield Elks BPOE 540 Memorial Trout Stocking will be held this Saturday, at the Raftsman Memorial Dam, beginning at 10 a.m.
Funds were recently raised online through gofundme.com by friends of Alex Vezza where the monetary goal was not only reached, but also well exceeded. With the abundance of funds, an anniversary date will be scheduled for another trout stocking in 2017.
The Vezza family will be releasing the trout with the assistance of Squirrel Tails for Trout, the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Posse, as well as members and officers of the Clearfield Elks.
In honor of Alex Vezza, a “large” trout will be stocked, along with one “special” trout, which will be tagged. The angler lucky enough to snag the tagged trout, upon verification, will be awarded a $100 Jim’s Sports Center gift certificate.
The public is not only welcome, but encouraged to attend the memorial stocking.
