Jeannette E. Kibbe, 82, of Clearfield died Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Ridgeview Elder Care.
Ms. Kibbe was born June 19, 1933 in Curwensville, the daughter of George R. and Vera E. (Way) Jones.
She was the owner and operator of the former Jones Way Bookstore in the Clearfield Mall for nearly 10 years.
Prior to that, she had been employed at Melliker’s Department Store in Baltimore, Md. for more than 20 years.
Ms. Kibbe was Methodist by faith. She had served as a hospice volunteer.
She is survived by two sons, George R. Kibbe II and Mark H. Kibbe and his wife, Andrea, all of Hampstead, Md.; four grandchildren, George R. Kibbe III and Kiersten, Olivia and Sawyer Kibbe; a sister, Janet E. Goss and her husband, Randall D. of Clearfield; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Sally Jones; two brothers, George and Harold Jones; and a sister, Vera J. Lingle.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Faith Connection at 4 p.m. Monday, with her nephew, Pastor Clint Goss officiating. Burial will be in Crown Crest Memorial Park.
