BRADFORD — Raeleigh Redden was near-perfect in the circle and also cranked out three of the Clearfield Area High School softball team’s season-high 11 hits as the Lady Bison geared up for the District 9 Class AAA Playoffs by routing Bradford 11-0 in five innings at Pitt-Bradford’s Kessel Athletic Complex Thursday afternoon.
Bryn Manion’s two-out looper over shortstop in the first inning deprived Redden of a no-no.
The senior right-hander proceeded to set down 11 Lady Owls in a row before issuing a four-pitch walk to MacKensi Belser in the fifth inning.
She registered nine strikeouts, fanning the side in the third and fifth frames, en route to her seventh win and 10th complete game.
Redden was one of three Lady Bison with multi-hit efforts.
Brooke Cline also had three hits, one a double, and Aspen Bishop belted two doubles and drove in three runs.
Nikki Brossard and Kirstin Norman, who made her first start at third base, each had a pair of RBIs.
Bishop’s two-run double to deep center and Redden’s two-run single over second base sent the Lady Bison on their way to their eighth win in 20 games.
Clearfield enjoyed another big inning in the fourth with Brossard’s two-run double to deep left accounting for two of the five runs.
The third-seeded Lady Bison will travel to St. Marys Tuesday for the D9-AAA semifinal game at 4:30 p.m.
