Raymond George Harzinski, 91, of Curwensville died Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Ridgeview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Curwensville.
Born Nov. 6, 1924, he was the son of George and Victoria (Vesloski) Harzinski.
Mr. Harzinski had been employed as a salesman for Sealtest Milk Co. He had also worked in the lumberyard and was a salesperson for Lezzer Lumber Co. where he retired from.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville, where he served as an usher for many years.
He was a member of the Curwensville VFW Post No. 842 and the Curwensville L.O.O.M. Family Center No. 268.
On Aug. 21, 1948 at St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church, he wed the former Margaret Ann Sutika, who survives.
Surviving are four children, Karen Rogers and her husband, Harry “Zip” of Paoli, Pa., JoAnn Wills and her husband, Robert of Curwensville and Susan Sherick and her husband, Frank and Raymond Steven Harzinski and his wife, Jodi, both of Clearfield.
Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Bryon and Brett Wills, Ashley and Matthew Rogers, Laura Sherick and Broc and Joey Harzinski and three great-grandchildren, Brady and Lauren Wills and Emma Pollick.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Stanley, Chester, Carl, Frank, William and Joseph Harzinski; a sister, Sophie Olson and an infant sister, Bertha Harzinski. He was the last member of his generation.
At the request of Mr. Harzinski, there will be no public visitation.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville at the convenience of the family with the Rev. Father Mark J. Mastrian as celebrant. Burial will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park in Hyde.
The family suggests contributions be made to either St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church, 306 Walnut St., Curwensville, PA 16833 or the Clearfield County SPCA, 275 21st St., Clearfield, PA 16830.
