HYDE — Bellefonte tallied three runs in four different innings for a 12-1 Mercy Rule win over Clearfield in Mountain League schoolgirl softball make-up action at the Bison Sports Complex Tuesday afternoon.
Lady Raider pitchers Tara Baney and Rachael Bernier teamed up for 12 strikeouts and held the Lady Bison to three singles over six innings.
Baney, the winner, racked up nine strikeouts and walked one in four innings.
The Lady Bison got their run in the second when Aspen Bishop walked, advanced to second on a wild pitch and scored on Lindsay Hand’s single down the right field line.
Brooke Cline and Bishop registered Clearfield’s other hits in the sixth inning.
The Lady Bison finished 4-10 in the league and are 7-11 for Wednesday’s home finale against Altoona.
Eleven of the Lady Raider runs off Erica Hanes and Abby Fedder were unearned because of five Lady Bison errors.
Alexis Wetzler and Bernier had two hits and two RBIs apiece for Bellefonte (14-5), with Wetzler also walking twice and scoring four runs.
Samantha Gates added a pair of RBIs via a grounder and a double.
The Lady Raiders, who were up 9-1 after three innings, wound up third in the ML at 10-4.
