CLEARFIELD – District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. has announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week.
Shaw identified the fugitive as Daniel Donnelly, 32, of Weber Ave., DuBois. Donnelly is wanted for failure to appear at a preliminary hearing May 6.
On April 4 Officer Scott Johnson of the Sandy Township Police Department filed a criminal complaint in which he charged Donnelly with retail theft, F3, two counts.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on Feb. 24 Johnson was assigned to investigate the report of a retail theft at a local business. Upon arrival at the scene, Johnson met with employees who stated that several electronic devices were observed to be missing.
Upon review of the surveillance video, Johnson observed an individual who was allegedly removing several electronic devices and concealing them under his coat before leaving the store.
After consulting with other officers from the Sandy Township and DuBois City police departments, Johnson was able to identify the individual as Donnelly.
Upon further investigation, it was determined that Donnelly was also involved in another incident of retail theft Sept. 28, 2015. Store personnel provided information and surveillance video from the incident in which Donnelly was allegedly observed removing several electronic devices.
A preliminary hearing was held May 6, at which time Donnelly failed to appear, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Donnelly is described as a Caucasian male who stands 5 feet, 11 inches tall. He has brown hair and blue eyes.
Anyone with knowledge of Donnelly’s location is asked to call Clearfield County Crime Stoppers at 800-376-4700. All calls to Crime Stoppers are confidential.
