CLEARFIELD – The Golden Bison & Alumni Association met recently at the Chink-La-Ca-Moose Room at Aunt Lu’s Café.
It welcomed, Eric A. Johnson, CTFA, for the office of treasurer. He is vice president of wealth and asset management with the CNB Bank.
It was noted that Dave Carns finished the restoration of the Bison Wall. He went above and beyond what was required for the completion of the job. The fountain will be functional in early May.
The Golden Bison Alumni & Association with the assistance of attorney, Ryan Sayers, has changed its name to Clearfield Bison Alumni.
The name change is a reflection of its wish to include all alumni who have graduated from Clearfield Area Schools.
The mission remains the same. Any class secretary who would like to have their class included in the mailings is asked to contact Tom Young at thomasyoung@msn.com.
Two Clearfield Area School Seniors have been chosen for the annual scholarships. This year the scholarships will be $2,000. They will be awarded at the Awards Assembly, and the students will be recognized at the annual banquet.
Each year two alumni are chosen to be recognized as Distinguished Alumni. Several criteria are used to choose these persons. They will be recognized at the annual banquet, as well.
The annual banquet will be held at St. Charles Café on July 30. The cost will be $18 and the event will start at 5:30 p.m. Invitations will be sent to all those on the current mailing list.
If you would like to be included on the mailing list, please drop your name and address in a note to Clearfield Bison Alumni, P.O. Box 1064, Clearfield, PA. 16830.
The invitation letter will be prepared to be mailed on May 17 at the Masonic Lodge in Clearfield starting at 9 a.m. All are invited to come and help with the mailing.
