DUBOIS – Changes must be implemented at the Slab Run sewage plant, announced Sandy Township Engineer Perry Bowser at Monday night’s supervisors’ meeting.
The allowable chlorine level after water treatment has been cut in half, explained Bowser.
He said that plant staff will begin to evaluate and identity methods of water treatment to operate under the new limits.
Bowser noted plant and chemical changes were possibilities.
In other business, the supervisors noted that the Camp Mountain Run Road’s bridge replacement is on schedule, and some parts are actually ahead of schedule. It was also noted that the culvert is scheduled for delivery May 17.
Township Manager Dave Monella announced that there were four traffic counters placed throughout the township. They are a part of a randomized state count of traffic on roadways. Monella, however, did not want the public to be alarmed.
The supervisors also issued a reminder that the Sandy Township Spring Clean-up will take place May 20-21.
