State police at DuBois
- State police responded to a DUI-related crash Thursday on Hormtown Road in Winslow Township. Further, a DuBois woman was traveling north when she lost control of her vehicle, and it spun off the roadway into a field. Her vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. No injuries were reported as a result of the crash, but the woman was taken to the hospital due to suspicion she was driving under the influence. State police are continuing their investigation at this time.
State police at Ridgway
- On Wednesday a 23-year-old St. Marys man was observed driving while his privileges were suspended in St. Marys. State police initiated a traffic stop, but the man allegedly fled through a field. Charges were filed through the district court as a result, state police said.
Clearfield Borough
- Police responded to East 10th Street for the alleged theft of packages from a porch. Police located a person who says they witnessed the theft. One of the suspects, police said, was contacted and has admitted to the theft.
- Police were dispatched to Nichols Street for a 911 hang-up call. Upon arrival to the scene, police learned that it was an accidental dial, and police observed no signs of foul play.
- Police were dispatched to the hospital for an assault patient who was seeking treatment. Upon arrival police found that the victim did not want to be cooperative. Police were unable to determine what occurred during the incident as a result.
- Police responded to the area of East Locust and North Third streets for damage that occurred to a light pole.
- Police received a report about a phone that was possibly lost in the area of Olive Street.
- Police are investigating an alleged theft of medication that occurred from a residence along Daisy Street.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about a lost cell phone in the area of Save A Lot.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment that occurred in the area of the Clearfield Area Junior-Senior High School.
- Police received a report about a lost cell phone in the area of Hotel Heights.
- Police responded to an alleged domestic disturbance in the area of Lawrence Park Village.
- Police received reports about IRS scams that occurred in the township.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment that occurred at the Clearfield Area Junior-Senior High School.
- Police received a report about the theft of medication, but it was listed as unfounded.
- Police responded to a local business along Route 879 and Interstate 80, where an employee found two syringes and a spoon used to ingest illegal substances in the restroom area. Police took custody of the items.
- Police responded to the Hillsdale area for a report about loitering and prowling. Upon arrival police checked the area but were unable to locate anyone.
DuBois City
- Police responded to the Gray Foundation Wednesday on West Long Avenue for a life alert activation. Upon arrival police learned that the residents were out of state.
- On Wednesday police were contacted about a dog that barked all hours of the day in the 400 block of Church Street. Further, police made contact with the owner and advised them of the complaint.
- On Wednesday police were dispatched to the Meadow Lane area, where a tractor-trailer was reportedly leaking fuel. Upon arrival police learned the vehicle was reported as stolen from Sandy Township. Crews from the fire and city works departments were summoned to mitigate the diesel fuel. Sandy Township police later found the person who reported it was lying due to being in an accident, and charges will be filed by Sandy Township police as a result.
- On Wednesday police were dispatched to Sheetz on East DuBois Avenue for a report about a stolen air pump. Upon reviewing surveillance, police learned a white sports utility vehicle with a trailer pulled into the lot the day before. When the vehicle left the air pump wasn’t there. Anyone with information is asked to contact city police.
- On Thursday police were dispatched to Sheetz on North Brady Street for a report about a retail theft suspect. Upon arrival police learned that the suspect had fled with three Tasty Cakes valued at $4.01. Police checked the surveillance and recognized the suspect as a 25-year-old DuBois man, William Runyon, who was on state parole. He was detained until parole agents arrived and transported him to a state correctional institution. Runyon will be charged with retail theft.
- On Thursday police were dispatched to the Tannery Dam for a fight. Upon arrival police found a female had come there to speak with her ex-boyfriend who had entered the vehicle and then refused to get out. Police directed them to separate, and no charges were filed as a result of the incident.
Sandy Township
- On Wednesday a 29-year-old Allport man allegedly attempted to take approximately $1,647 worth of merchandise through a hole he cut in the garden center fence at Wal-Mart without paying for it. He was approached by Wal-Mart security and fled the scene. While fleeing from Wal-Mart in a pickup truck, police said he ran over a fire hydrant, causing severe damage to it and his truck. The man was located the next day and was transported to county jail due to a probation violation; charges are currently pending at this time.
- On Wednesday a 55-year-old New Jersey man reported that someone had stolen his tractor-trailer while he was inside of Pilot. The next day, police said the truck was found in the parking lot of the Peking restaurant on Liberty Boulevard with a punctured fuel tank. Upon investigation police determined the driver had taken a wrong turn and damaged the truck and allegedly decided to report it as stolen. Charges are currently pending against him at this time.
- Police received a report about a false alarm at a Treasure Lake residence Wednesday.
- On Wednesday a 22-year-old Clarion woman reported losing a diamond engagement ring between PNX Bank and Subway at the DuBois Mall.
- A 36-year-old Euclid Avenue woman reported that a male and female who were in their late 20’s pulled up in front of her house and were taking pictures of it and the area. When confronted the pair said they were taking harmless photos and then fled the area, she told police.
- A 39-year-old DuBois woman lost control of her vehicle when a deer ran out in front of her on Oklahoma Salem Road on Wednesday. The woman was taken to Penn Highlands for treatment of injuries she sustained, and the vehicle was towed from the scene, police said.
- Police received a report about a false alarm at Dave Rossi Jewelers on Wednesday.
- On Thursday a 49-year-old Ohio man reported meeting a man in the Wal-Mart parking lot to discuss the terms for purchasing a vehicle that was posted on Craig’s List. The Ohio man put a $200 deposit down on the vehicle, and when the time came to make the exchange he was told the vehicle had been involved in an accident. The Ohio man has been unable to get his deposit back, police said, and the incident remains under investigation at this time.
- A tractor-trailer driver reported that he hit the mirror of another truck Thursday while parking and he could not find the driver of that truck.
