State police at Clearfield
- State police received a report about an incident of simple assault that occurred April 13 on Sunset Lane in Curwensville Borough. During the incident, a Curwensville man allegedly assaulted the victim following a domestic dispute. The victim, state police said, was injured but didn’t require medical treatment. State police identified the man as Jerry A. Lefort, and there’s an active warrant for his arrest. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
State police at Ridgway
- State police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief that occurred Monday at the intersection of Route 948 and Highland Road in Highland Township. During the incident, someone allegedly damaged a political sign and changed the wording of it. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Ridgway at 814-776-6136.
Clearfield Borough
- Police assisted a motorist who had locked their keys inside of their vehicle along South Third Street.
- A medical card was turned into police after it was located along West Side. Police were able to contact the owner and advise them.
- Police responded to Spruce Street as a child called 911. Police found that a female was having a medical issue, and she was transported to the hospital for treatment.
- Police handled a parking complaint along NW Fourth Avenue.
- Police arrested a 36-year-old male on assault charges after police were called to an address along East Eighth Street for an alleged disturbance. The male was transported to the Clearfield County Jail, police said.
- Police were advised of kids possibly breaking into vehicles along East Market Street. Police responded but were unable to find anyone in the area.
- Police were called to South Second Street for an intoxicated male who had made statements of self-harm. Further, police located the male who advised he was having thoughts of self-harm; he was transported to the hospital for further mental health treatment.
- Police served a warrant on a male after he was stopped for a traffic violation in East End.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of child endangerment that was referred by Children & Youth Services.
- Police received a traffic complaint regarding a violation near Nichols and West Front streets. It was referred to Clearfield Borough police.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment in the Hillsdale area.
- Police responded to the county jail to transport a female on a 302 warrant to the Clearfield Penn Highlands Hospital.
- Clearfield Borough police were assisted with locating a male who was threatening to harm himself.
- Police received a report about an incident involving alleged verbal abuse at the Mountain Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
- Police received a report about a disabled vehicle on the Route 879 Bypass.
- Police responded to South Second Street to assist Crisis personnel.
- Police received a report about an IRS scam in the Sipes Lane area.
- Police received a report about an alleged fraud/phone scam in the Maple Avenue area.
- Police received a report about an alleged fraud/phone scam in which the caller requested money to be sent in exchange for lottery winnings.
- Police received a report about a hit-and-run accident involving unattended property. It remains under investigation, police said.
- Police received a report about a traffic violation on South Second Street.
- Police received a report about a verbal domestic dispute on Robinson Avenue in Hyde.
Curwensville Borough
- On Monday police received a report about a bad check allegedly being passed with the amount being more than $1,000. Further, police have identified a former Curwensville woman, and charges will be filed against her.
- Police reported that the animal control officer has been receiving numerous complaints of people walking their animals throughout Irvin Park and the borough and not cleaning up after them. This will not be tolerated and anyone found in violation will receive a citation, police said.
