A suspected suicide bomber detonated an explosive Wednesday evening near Ulu Mosque in the northwestern Turkish city of Bursa, according to the Bursa Governorship.
Initial indications were that seven people were injured, according to the governorship. The semiofficial Anadolu news agency, however, reported one person had died and six were injured.
The governorship said the attacker was believed to be female.
The explosion follows a warning from the U.S. Embassy in Ankara citing credible threats to tourist sites in Turkey.
