Thomas Rodger, 74, of Hawk Run died Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at his residence.
Born Sept. 10, 1941 in Philipsburg, he was the son of the late Thomas and Kathryn Miller Rodger.
Mr. Rodger was a member of the St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, Hawk Run, where he was a past officer.
He was employed by Local Union No. 126 as a heavy equipment operator with 51 years of service.
He was married to Nancy Pristash Rodger on Nov. 1, 1975 at St. John’s Orthodox Church, Hawk Run.
Mr. Rodger is survived by a daughter, Lynne Gilham and her husband, Patrick of West Decatur and a son, Thomas Rodger and his wife, Colette of Philipsburg.
He is also survived by three granddaughters, Chaisley Marie Rodger of Philipsburg and Mindy and Jessica Gilham, both of West Decatur, and a brother, Larry Rodger and his wife, Jamie of Philipsburg.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, Hawk Run, with Father Peter Benyo as celebrant.
Burial will be in the St. John the Baptist Orthodox Cemetery, Hawk Run.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday at the Strange & Weaver Funeral Home, Morrisdale. A Panahida service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
