Donaldeen S.M. Colgan, 90, of DuBois died Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Nelson’s Golden Years.
Born March 4, 1926 in Corry, she was the daughter of the late Carl O. and Esther (Nelson) Granquist.
On July 13, 1946, she married Raymond U. Colgan. He survives. They would have been married 70 years in July.
She was a graduate of DuBois Area High School.
She worked alongside her husband, Ray, in the family-owned Ray U. Colgan State Farm Insurance in DuBois for 36 years.
She was a member of West Liberty Baptist Church. She taught Sunday school for more than 50 years.
She was also a member of Gideon’s International for 45 years. She loved gardening and flowers.
She is survived by her daughter, Esther L. Davis of North Olmsted, Ohio and Philip D. Colgan and his wife, Donna of DuBois, eight grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
There will be no public viewing and private funeral services will be held on Tuesday, with her son, Pastor Philip Colgan officiating.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.
