One of the world’s longest snakes ever captured has died in Malaysia.
The giant snake was found and captured last week at a construction site near Paya Terubong, Malaysia.
The snake was a reticulated python, a species found in Southeast Asia typically regarded as the longest reptile. It reportedly measured about 25 feet and weighed 550 pounds.
It is among the longest snakes captured but didn’t quite measure up to the current Guinness World Records holder, Medusa. Medusa is a Kansas City, Missouri, snake measuring 25 feet and 2 inches long. It resides at the Edge of Hell Haunted House.
After its capture by Malaysia Civil Defense Department personnel, the snake was kept inside a cage and given food and water. It died three days later, according to a Malaysia Civil Defense Department spokesman.
