Marjorie Ann “Marge” Munchak, 77, of Curwensville died Wednesday, April 8, 2016 at Penn Highlands Clearfield Hospital.
Born April 8, 1939, she was the daughter of William and E. Louise (Miles) Thurstin.
Mrs. Munchak was a homemaker. Also, she along with her husband had owned and operated the former Munchak Heating and Plumbing and the former Family Video, both of Curwensville.
She was a member of the St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville.
On Oct. 23, 1955 in St. Bonaventure Roman Catholic Church in Grampian, she wed Anthony A. “Tony” Munchak, who preceded her in death on April 23, 2011.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two grandsons, Ryan Munchak and Matthew Addleman; and a brother, Leland “Peanut” Shaw.
Surviving are three children, Deborah Passarelli of Curwensville, Michael Munchak and his fiancée, Tammy Kyler of Clearfield and Joseph “Joey” Munchak and his fiancée, Barbara Orange of Indiana, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers, John “Jack” Thurstin and his wife, Shirley of Curwensville and Daryl Shaw of Texas, two sisters, Karen Shaw of Curwensville and Sherry Gill and her husband, William of Olanta and two sisters-in-law, Irene Cook of Curwensville and Gloria Spencer of Wooster, Ohio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Bonaventure Roman Catholic Church in Grampian, with the Rev. Father Mark J. Mastrian as Celebrant. Burial will be in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Grampian.
Friends and family will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville and again from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Tuesday when the procession will depart for the church.
The rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. Monday by members of both St. Bonaventure and St. Timothy Altar and Rosary Societies, and a Scripture Vigil Service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Monday, both at the funeral home.
