State police at Clearfield
- State police received a report about an incident of theft that occurred Tuesday on Main Street in Ramey Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly removed 150 oxycodone pills from the victim’s purse. The total value of the pills is $200, state police said, and the incident remains under investigation at this time.
State police at DuBois
- State police responded to a hit-and-run crash that occurred sometime between April 1 and Tuesday in front of a residence on Richardsville Road in Warsaw Township. Further, a vehicle was traveling north when its operator failed to negotiate a left-hand curve. It subsequently traveled off the right side of the roadway, striking a large rock and an embankment. The vehicle returned to the roadway and fled the scene. State police believe the suspect vehicle is a small car or sports utility vehicle. State police at Punxsutawney
- State police received a report about an incident of retail theft that occurred March 31 at the Wal-Mart store in Young Township. During the incident, a Mahaffey man allegedly removed a watch from the shelf and attempted to exit the store before being apprehended by an associate. Charges are currently pending through the district court, state police said.
State police at Ridgway
- State police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief that occurred sometime Saturday or Sunday on Route 555 in Benezette Township. During the incident, someone allegedly damaged all the hand-made wood furniture outside of the Mountain Top Distillery. There was an empty beer bottle left behind, which will be tested for evidence, state police said. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Ridgway at 814-776-6136.
- State police received a report about an incident of theft/fraud that occurred sometime between March 26 and March 31 at the Corner Market & Deli in Fox Township. During the incident, someone allegedly passed a counterfeit $20 bill for payment. State police are continuing their investigation at this time.
Clearfield Borough
- Police responded to Cumberland Street for a report about a suspicious vehicle that was parked in the roadway. Further, police made contact with the driver who became argumentative and who will receive citations as a result.
- Police stopped a male and cited him after he was allegedly observed intentionally spinning the tires on his vehicle along Gulich Avenue. The male, police said, then appeared to lose control of his vehicle.
- Police were called to the hospital for a mental health patient who had left. The male later returned and was being cooperative, police said.
- Police unlocked a vehicle along Reed Street for a resident.
- Police are investigating an alleged theft from a business along East Market Street.
- Police are investigating an alleged assault that involved a male and female who were engaged in a physical altercation.
Lawrence Township
- Police were called to the Economy Inn to collect drug paraphernalia.
- Police received reports about two, different incidents of identity theft involving the IRS. Further, residents filed their taxes and then discovered someone else allegedly had already done so under their name.
- Police received information that a male who was wanted for retail theft was located by the NYPD.
- Police located an open door at a business, which was closed at the time.
Decatur Township
- Police responded to assist emergency personnel with clearing a trailer, where a possible patient was staying after the activation of a medical alarm. No persons were found inside, police said.
- Police received a report about persons going door-to-door on behalf of an energy company in the area of McAteer Street in Houtzdale. Further, police asked them to leave the area, as they didn’t have the proper permits.
- Police responded to the area of Ashland Road due to a dog running loose. The owners were warned if it occurred again, they would be cited, police said.
- Police received a report about an alleged domestic dispute on Stumptown Road. It involved a son and other family members, and they were separated, police said.
- Police located a disabled motorist at the intersection of McAteer and Elizabeth streets. Further, police were able to push the vehicle from the roadway.
- Police responded to a Mary Street address in Houtzdale to assist emergency personnel with a patient.
- A female requested to speak with police about careless driving in the Peebles Plaza. Police would like to remind motorists to be careful and courteous while traveling through parking lots.
Sandy Township
- On Monday a Hungry Hollow woman alleged that the 24-year-old man who lives with her got upset and began “acting crazy.” She told police that after he was dropped off at a bus stop, he began calling to threaten to come back and shoot them. However, officers were unable to locate the man.
- On Monday a vehicle was waiting to turn left into NAPA when it was rear-ended by a vehicle; that vehicle was also struck from behind. No injuries were reported as a result, and all of the vehicles were driven from the scene, police said.
- A vehicle driven by a 34-year-old Treasure Lake man swerved into the opposite lane of travel on Bay Road and impacted a vehicle being driven by 44-year-old Treasure Lake woman Monday. The woman was treated on scene by emergency personnel, and the man’s vehicle was towed from the scene, police said.
- On Monday a 50-year-old South Main Street man alleged being harassed by a known 52-year-old DuBois man who had been repeatedly calling his house. Officers handled the situation without incident.
- On Tuesday a 23-year-old Sykesville woman was allegedly caught taking things from Wal-Mart while working and returning them for cash. Charges are currently pending at this time, police said.
- A 69-year-old DuBois man lost control of his truck when his brakes went out on Rockton Road on Tuesday. This caused it to travel off the roadway, through a yard and to damage three mailboxes. No injuries were reported as a result, police said.
- On Tuesday a 31-year-old Behringer Highway man reported an incident with his 32-year-old neighbor as part of an ongoing dispute. Charges are currently pending at this time, police said.
- Police received a report about two people who were sleeping in a vehicle Tuesday at the Falls Creek Sheetz. However, the vehicle was gone upon police arrival.
- A 25-year-old Treasure Lake woman alleged that she and her 26-year-old boyfriend got into a dispute, which got physical when she tried to leave the house Tuesday. She finally got out of the house and was at the security office. Officers attempted to contact the boyfriend at the home, but he would not come to the door. Police handled the situation without incident.
