Martha J. “Martie” Roos, 85, of Clearfield died Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Penn Highlands Clearfield.
Mrs. Roos was born Nov. 3, 1930 in Houtzdale, the daughter of George and Mary (Magilton) O’Dell.
She had worked 17 years for Letzlers Motors of Houtzdale. She had also volunteered for 27 years at the Clearfield Hospital.
Mrs. Roos was Methodist by faith.
She was an active contributor to the SPCA. Also, she was past president of the Hyde Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
Mrs. Roos is survived by her husband, Robert J. Roos, to whom she was married April 10, 1962 in Winchester, Va.
She is also survived by a daughter, Lonna J. Lombardo and her husband, Charles of Clearfield; two grandchildren, Robert C. and Tia J. Lombardo; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was the last member of her generation. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Betty M. Wilson.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 2016 at the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home Inc. of Clearfield with Pastor Scott Schultz officiating.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Saturday and from 2 p.m. Sunday until the hour of services at the funeral home.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
