Elaine Montoro, 78, of Berlin, Md., died Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at the Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Md.
She was born Nov. 10, 1937 in Bigler Township to the late Joseph and Julia Delattre Mick.
Mrs. Montoro graduated in 1955 from the Bigler Township (Madera) High School.
In addition to being a homemaker, she was employed for several years at Navasky’s clothing company.
She was the wife of Frank “Muzzy” Montoro, who preceded her in death in 2000.
Mrs. Montoro was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Madera as well as a member of the Altar Rosary Society, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and the Madera VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
She had recently moved full-time to Ocean Pines to enjoy the beach. She also loved her dog, “Kobe,” gardening, reading, dancing and doing puzzles.
She is survived by her daughters, Colette Reifer and Claudia Plevinsky; her son-in-laws, John and Marty; her grandchildren, Alexander, Brooke, Christopher and Sean; her brother, Maxillian Mick; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received from 9:30 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. Saturday, April 9 at the Kruise-Spewock Funeral & Cremation Services Inc., Ramey.
A memorial mass will follow at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ramey, with Father Zab Amar officiating. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Madera.
Memorial contributions may be made to a local humane society or by gifting a large print novel in Mrs. Montoro’s name for a local library.
