Robert M. Bowery, 82, died Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Penn Highlands Dubois.
Born March 5, 1934 in Clearfield, he was the son of the late Fred H. Bowery Sr. and Zelma (Hall) Bowery.
He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean War.
He was a member of the Kellytown Union Church in Olanta. He was also a member of the VFW Post 1785 and American Legion Post 6 in Clearfield.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy (Tyler) Bowery, and his six children, Robert Bowery Jr. and Robin Bowery, both of Clearfield, Cindy Lemmo of Curwensville, Ramona Oakman of Meadville, Billie Mae Bowery of Penfield and Sheila Ball of Vermont.
He is also survived by two step-children, Richard Zapsky Jr. and Lisa Ream, both of Houtzdale; a sister, Hilda Mae Thompson of Grove City; 17 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Bowery Jr., and two sisters, Mary Jane Townsend and Dorothy Jean Stumph.
Family will receive friends from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Kruise-Spewock Funeral & Cremation Services Inc., Madera, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Robert Witherow officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Fruit Hill Cemetery, Ansonville.
