Lillian M. Laird, 97, of West Decatur died Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Laird was born July 12, 1918 in West Decatur, the daughter of Hye R. and Annie R. (Parks) Goss.
She was a homemaker. Mrs. Laird was a member of the Spring Valley United Methodist Church.
She is survived by three children, Annie M. Crepeau, Elmer “Butch” Laird and his wife, Lana and Walter A. Laird and his wife, Peggy, all of Spring Valley; 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and a son-in-law, Carl Pedmo.
Mrs. Laird was the last member of her generation. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Elmer C. Laird Sr., to whom she was married July 19, 1939 in Woodland and who died Dec. 21, 2004.
She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Lucy Pedmo and Rita Knepp; three grandsons, Eldon Knepp Jr., Steve Allen Knepp and Paul Anthony Pedmo; two brothers, Edward and Arnold Goss; two sisters, Lois Mayhew and Margaret DeAngelis; and two son-in-laws, George Crepeau and Eldon Knepp.
Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home Inc. of Clearfield with the Rev. Kenneth Pry officiating. Burial will be in Spring Valley Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
