At least 11 people died during an explosion aboard a bus carrying local government employees in northwest Pakistan, authorities said.
In addition to the fatalities, 31 others were injured, said Dr. Ghulam Subhani, a superintendent at a local hospital that is treating all the casualties.
The Wednesday morning blast occurred in Peshawar’s highly-fortified army camp, said Mohammad Kashif, a senior police official.
The explosive material was planted inside the bus, according to Mushtaq Ghani, spokesman for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, one of various provinces in the region.
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif condemned the attack in a statement.
