State police at Clearfield
- State police investigated a DUI that occurred Thursday at the intersection of Blanchard and Curtain streets in Osceola Mills Borough. Further, a Sandy Ridge teen was allegedly observed by emergency personnel seated on a four-wheeler and he was incoherent. He was transported to the Clearfield Penn Highlands Hospital for treatment, and charges are to be filed through the district court.
State police at Philipsburg
- State police received a report about an incident of retail theft that occurred Wednesday at Puff Super Value in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, a Philipsburg man allegedly took a pack of cigars and left the store without paying for it. State police are continuing their investigation at this time.
Clearfield Borough
- Police received a report about a theft that occurred at a business. Further, police said someone allegedly used the victim’s card to purchase fuel. Police are continuing their investigation at this time.
- Police received a report about two, lost dogs in the West Side of town. Police were later informed that the dogs had returned home.
- Police responded to Park Avenue for a report about someone outside of the caller’s residence. However, police were unable to locate anyone or any indications that someone was outside.
- Police responded to East Locust Street for an alleged disturbance. Upon arrival police found that the occupants were speaking loud and not engaged in an altercation.
Curwensville Borough
- Police will issue a citation for tobacco on school property. It will be filed against a Curwensville student for a recent violation.
- Police have received complaints about people who are walking their dogs in the area of North and George streets, permitting them to defecate and then not cleaning it up. Police would like to remind people to clean up after their animals because failure to do so will result in a citation.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of prowling and loitering in the area of South Side.
Decatur Township
- Police responded to the Coffee Corner for a male who was allegedly harassing an employee. Further, he was allegedly making “sexual comments” and continued to after being told to stop. He has been charged for harassment as a result of the incident.
- Police responded to an alleged domestic dispute on Good Street in Houtzdale. Both parties were separated, and police determined that it wasn’t physical in nature.
- State police at Philipsburg turned over a wallet that was recovered at McDonald’s. The owner was located and it was returned to him, police said.
- Morris-Cooper Regional police were assisted with a hit-and-run accident. The driver then returned to the scene of the accident, police said.
- Police reported that a Dollar General truck backed into a yard on Blue Spruce Road and caused property damage. Police located the truck, and the investigation is ongoing at this time.
- Police responded to Clearfield Bank & Trust, Philipsburg, where a male was allegedly harassing employees. Police made contact with the male who cooperated with them.
- Police responded to an activated alarm at Kwik Fill n Walton Street. Upon investigation police found everything to be OK.
- A female told police that shortly after using her high beams and directing them at a vehicle, she was followed to Sheetz. She asked police for assistance when leaving, as she was unsure of the location of the vehicle.
- Police responded to Bucket Line Road for a single-vehicle accident. Further, a car overturned onto its side and police were assisted by fire personnel and towing services. No injuries were reported as a result of the accident, police said.
- Police received a report about a school bus striking a vehicle in front of McDonald’s in Philipsburg. The bus was only occupied by the driver, and persons involved exchanged information at the scene, police said.
- Police reported that drug paraphernalia was located at Sheetz in Philipsburg. It was turned over to police, and the investigation is ongoing at this time.
DuBois City
- On Wednesday police observed a black Volkswagen Jetta traveling on East Park Avenue. Its tail lights were allegedly not working, and police initiated a traffic stop. During the traffic stop, the driver was identified by police as a 33-year-old DuBois man; he was allegedly driving under a suspended license. Also, police allegedly located a loaded handgun that was neither registered to him nor his female passenger. Police then determined the man was on probation in Clearfield County, and he was detained at the county jail as a result. Charges are currently pending against the man, police said.
- On Wednesday police received a report about an alleged incident of theft from a city resident. The owner told police that jewelry was stolen sometime between June and July. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of criminal mischief that occurred Wednesday at a South State Street residence. Further, police were told that fencing was damaged and several bricks were found on the back porch of the residence.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment that occurred Wednesday in the 200 block of Hahne Court. The homeowner told police that several juvenile males knocked on his door but when he answered they took off. He told police it has been an ongoing issue for him, and this time he chased after two of the juveniles who then stopped and returned to his property. Police contacted the juveniles’ parents, and all four agreed not to return to the property in the future.
- On Thursday police were dispatched to the 200 block of Hubert Street for a report about two males allegedly stealing from vehicles. The caller told police it appeared both males were in their early 20’s. Both were tall with a thin build, police said, adding one was wearing a light-colored hooded sweatshirt and backpack. They allegedly entered a 2004 Buick parked to the rear of West Weber Avenue and continued to check other vehicle doors. Police were unable to locate the males upon arrival in the area. However, police received reports about vehicles being entered on Robinson and Evergreen streets. Police would like to remind residents to lock their vehicles and to report incidents as soon as possible. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact city police at 814-765-1533.
- Police were dispatched to a two-vehicle accident Thursday at Giant Eagle. Police assisted the drivers with exchanging information.
- Police received a report about an alleged theft from mailboxes Thursday on West Washington Avenue. Police reviewed video surveillance and identified a known male who was allegedly attempting to take mail from the mailboxes. Video shows other thefts that allegedly occurred over the past two months, police said. Charges are currently pending at this time.
- On Thursday police were dispatched to the DuBois Diner for an activated burglar alarm. Upon arrival police found everything to be OK.
- Police were dispatched for an activated hold-up alarm Thursday at the Penn Highlands medical building on South Main Street. Upon arrival police found it was accidentally activated by an employee.
- Police received a report about an unwanted persons Thursday at a residence in the 500 block of South Main Street. The males left the residence prior to police arrival, and it was found that there was a dispute over money.
Sandy Township
- Police received a report about a false alarm at Kwik Fill.
- A small, black dog and a medium-sized, brown dog were found Wednesday in the area of 930 W. Long Ave.
- On Wednesday Wal-Mart employees alleged that a 45-year-old DuBois woman took $113.25 worth of merchandise after her card was declined at the self-checkout. Police are continuing their investigation of the incident at this time.
- A 60-year-old Brockway woman reported that someone hit and damaged her vehicle while it was parked Wednesday in the Wal-Mart parking lot.
- On Thursday a 31-year-old Weedville woman was making a left-hand turn into the DuBois Mall from Route 255 when a vehicle driven by a 72-year-old DuBois man proceeded through the light and hit her vehicle. Severe damage and no injuries were reported, police said.
