Paul Dides, 86, of Clearfield died Friday, March 4, 2016 at UPMC Altoona.
Mr. Dides was born July 7, 1929 in Woodland, the son of John and Cecilia (Kozakiewicz) Dides.
He had worked for various railroad companies until retiring from Conrail as a welder foreman. Mr. Dides was Catholic by faith.
He was a U.S. Army/Air Force veteran and served during the Korean War.
Mr. Dides was a member of the Clearfield American Legion and the SOI. He enjoyed hunting and gardening.
Mr. Dides is survived by his wife, Margaret E. (Curley) Dides, to whom he was married Dec. 19, 1958.
He is survived by five children, Cynthia L. Beach, Paula A. Dides and her companion, Dick Carr Jr., and Janice M. Peters and her husband, Howdy, all of Clearfield; Susan L. Cowder and her husband, Matthew of Kylertown; and Ronald P. Dides and his wife, Deborah of Moscow, Pa.
He is survived by eight grandchildren, Amanda, Rebekah, Sarah and her husband, Derek, Steve and his wife, Brenda, Koren, Justin, Adelyn and Jonathan; two great-grandchildren, Maya and Matthew; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Dides was the last member of his generation. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Joseph, Michael and Stephen Dides; a sister, Mary Keller; and a grandson, Tyler Peters.
Honoring Mr. Dides’ wishes, there will be no public visitation. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Bradford Cemetery.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
