State police at Philipsburg
- State police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief that occurred Sunday at the Philipsburg-Osceola High School. During the incident, someone allegedly broke a door window. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Philipsburg at 814-342-3370.
- State police received a report about a retail theft that occurred Tuesday at Lykens Market in Port Matilda Borough. Upon arrival state police discovered that a Port Matilda man had allegedly gotten gas and left without paying for it. He was charged with retail theft through the district court.
DuBois City
- Police were dispatched to a two-vehicle accident Monday at the intersection of Liberty Boulevard and Parkway Drive. Further, a vehicle traveling south on Liberty Boulevard was stopped for a red light. It was rear-ended by another vehicle, which was unable to come to a stop. No injuries were reported in the mishap, police said.
- Police received a report about a possible incident of harassment Monday in the 100 block of Grant Street. The caller told police about a neighbor leaving a note on his vehicle and claiming he struck her vehicle. The caller denied striking his neighbor’s vehicle. Police urged both parties to contact the department prior to contacting each other.
- On Monday residents of the 100 block of Quarry Avenue contacted police to report continued harassment. The callers told police a known friend showed up and “warned” them of a possible threat from a male who has been causing problems for them. Police urged the callers to call 911 if anyone arrived at their residence.
- On Monday patrons of a Liberty Boulevard establishment called police about a male who was reportedly acting strangely outside. The caller told police the male was whittling with a large knife. There wasn’t any report about the male being threatening with the knife or acting out, police said. Police checked the area but were unable to locate the male.
- Police received a noise complaint Monday in the 200 block of Williams Street. The caller told police a neighbor was playing music too loudly in their apartment. Upon arrival police found three females who turned music up while they were cleaning. Police asked them to turn their music down for the remainder of the night.
- On Tuesday an Orange Alley resident called police to report vandalism to her vehicle. She told police that someone threw white paint on her red vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to contact DuBois City police.
- Police were dispatched to a two-vehicle accident Tuesday at the intersection of Beaver Drive and Division Street. Upon arrival police found a vehicle was traveling east on Beaver Drive when it approached the intersection, and it was unable to stop. It subsequently rear-ended a vehicle stopped at the intersection. No injuries were reported as a result, and both vehicles were driven from the scene, police said.
- On Tuesday police responded to a panic alarm at the Penn Highlands Pharmacy on South Main Street. Upon arrival police found it was accidental, and there wasn’t any emergency.
- Neighbors of a North Church Street resident called to report a noise complaint Tuesday. The caller told police their neighbor had his music turned up too loud. Police made contact with the neighbor and asked him to turn his music down.
