CLEARFIELD – District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. has announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week for the week of Feb. 29, 2016.
Shaw identified the fugitive as Jasmine Santos, 22, of Woodbine Street, Harrisburg. Santos is wanted for failure to appear at a preliminary hearing Feb. 17.
On Jan. 14 Trooper David Patrick of the Pennsylvania State Police, Clearfield barracks, filed a criminal complaint against Santos. She was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance; contraband/controlled substance to a confined person; and possession of a controlled substance.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on May 16, 2015, Santos was visiting an inmate at the State Correctional Institution at Houtzdale. During the visit, Santos was allegedly observed handing a bag of candy to an inmate that contained three balloons.
Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the balloons allegedly contained a controlled substance. The substance was later sent to the lab and tested positive for marijuana. The inmate was subsequently interviewed and allegedly admitted to consuming the balloons containing marijuana.
A preliminary hearing was held Feb. 17, at which time Santos failed to appear, and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
Santos is described as a Hispanic female who stands 5 feet, 5 inches tall. She has brown hair and eyes.
