CLEARFIELD – The Central PA Outdoor & Sports Show will return with a bang this year, as new highlights and big-name presenters are added to the schedule.
On the speaker list this year are a national finalist for the Field & Stream “Hero of Conservation” Award in 2014, Bill Anderson, and 15-time National and two-time Archery World Campion, Tony Tazza.
Winchester TV’s Whitetail Frenzy hosts will present all three days on various topics from scent control to hunting mature whitetails in the Appalachian region.
Clearfield County Sheriff Wes Thurston and Posse Commander, Mike Churner will be on hand to discuss the creation of Clearfield County’s Posse and to host a question-and-answer session for prospective posse applicants.
Presenting will be professional fly-casting instructor, Kurt Thomas; Personal Defense Trainer, Jerry Schickling; and East Coast Predator Hunter, Freddie McKnight. Also, State Rep. Tommy Sankey will be presenting a sportsmen and firearms legislative update.
A favorite across the United States, the Bwana Jim’s Wildlife Show will be gracing the outdoor stages and presenting four shows daily.
Organizers promise the craziest and most educational wildlife show ever seen. Bwana Jim specializes in reptiles, such as snakes, alligators and turtles, and other animals, such as armadillos, wallabies and exotic birds.
Little outdoor enthusiasts will also be able to take aim at the National Wild Turkey Federation Jake’s Take Aim Booth, which is sponsored by the Susquehanna Chapter of the NWTF.
Also new to the show is a live shooting simulator hosted by Belding & Mull. With a handgun-style laser gun, attendees will shoot general targets, silhouettes or human assailants; however, you have to decide if they really are a danger… or not.
Returning favorites are Buckmasters’ Antler Scoring by Edson Waite, Race Street Brew Works Beer-Tasting events, the “Pan for Gold” display and the Sanctioned Turkey Calling Contest.
The venue will be packed this year with new exhibitors, displays and a host of new outfitters, hunting and fishing gear suppliers, fishing charters, resorts and hunting preserves, all-terrain vehicles and more.
The show will be held March 18-20. Show hours are 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Sunday.
Tickets are $5 per adult and children 10 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased in advance via the official Web site.
The show is sponsored by Jim’s Sports Center, Denny’s Beer Barrel Pub, First Media Radio, GANT News, WJAC-TV and the Clearfield County Fair & Park Board.
