A small Tara Air plane carrying 21 people has gone missing in a mountainous region of Nepal, the airline’s media manager said.
The Twin Otter plane took off from the city of Pokhara on Wednesday morning and was scheduled to land in the town of Jomsom, Tara Air media manager Bhim Rai said.
The total flight time was supposed to be 19 minutes, but contact was lost eight minutes after takeoff.
Eighteen passengers, including two foreigners, and three crew members were on the plane, Rai said.
An army helicopter and two private helicopters have been deployed in the search.
