State police at Clearfield
- State police received a report about a crash Monday on Good Street in Houtzdale Borough. Further, a vehicle was traveling west on Otter Alley while a second vehicle was traveling north on Good Street. The operator of the first vehicle pulled out from a stop sign and failed to observe the second vehicle. As a result, the second vehicle struck the driver’s side door of the first one. No injuries were reported as a result of the crash, and minor damage occurred to both vehicles, state police said.
State police at Ridgway
- State police received a report about an alleged incident of cruelty to animals that occurred Sunday on Boone Mountain Road in Fox Township. During the incident, a chow mix dog was allegedly shot and left along the roadway. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Ridgway at 814-776-6136.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about a lost cellular device. It was described as a black flip-style TracFone. Anyone who finds the phone is asked to contact township police.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of fraud that occurred in the area of the EconoLodge.
- Police received a report about a run-away juvenile. Further, police were able to locate the juvenile, and she was returned home.
Curwensville Borough
- On Saturday police conducted a traffic stop and determined a male was wanted, and he was placed in county jail.
- On Saturday a Dodge Ram was parked along Center Street when it slid down the hill. It subsequently struck a utility pole at the intersection of Center and Cherry streets. No injuries were reported, and the pole needed replaced, police said.
- Police are investigating a violation of an execution sale of a truck that was to occur at a George Street residence Saturday. However, the truck was not at the location it was required to be. Police indicated that the owner will be charged with defrauding secured creditors.
DuBois City
- Police received a report about a vehicle struck while parked outside of a residence Sunday on East Scribner Avenue. Damage was observed to the bumper and front quarter panel, police said. It was also noted that the suspect vehicle left red paint on the caller’s vehicle. No additional information is available at this time.
- Police were dispatched for a possible runaway juvenile Sunday. Officers were able to make contact with the juvenile female when she was found by her mother on West Long Avenue. She was transported to the hospital for an evaluation, police said.
- Police received a report about children attempting to break the ice Sunday in the area of the Tannery Dam. Upon arrival police found they had already retreated from the ice. Police made contact with several juveniles and cautioned them on the ice possibly being thin and dangerous.
- Police received a report about an alleged domestic disturbance Sunday on East Long Avenue. Upon arrival police learned that a 16-year-old female was arguing with her parents. Police spoke with both parents and the daughter in order to resolve the situation. They were also referred to several social services, and no arrests were made as a result of the incident.
- On Sunday police were dispatched to Penn Highlands Hospital, where a woman was sitting in a vehicle that didn’t belong to her. Upon arrival police learned she had walked away from the hospital during a previous incident. She was escorted to the emergency department for a medical evaluation.
- On Sunday police received a report from a West Washington Avenue resident that her boyfriend was missing. She told police she hadn’t seen or heard from her live-in boyfriend since Friday evening. Her calls to his phone were also unanswered, police said. Police called his cell phone and made contact with him; he advised he wasn’t in need of assistance and needed his space.
- Police received a report about an activated residential alarm Monday in the first block of Overlook Drive. Upon arrival police found the tenant who resides there and it was determined the alarm had malfunctioned.
- On Monday police received a report from an Orient Avenue resident about an alleged phone scam. Further, someone called the resident and claimed to be with the IRS. Police are investigating the incident at this time.
- Police received a report about a female who was allegedly being unruly Monday in the 200 block of West Long Avenue. Upon arrival police found that a mother and daughter were engaged in an argument. Once police determined the situation was safe, the daughter decided to leave the residence and stay somewhere else for the night. No further action was required, police said.
- Police received a report about an alleged domestic disturbance that occurred Monday in the 100 block of East Second Avenue. Upon arrival police determined it was a verbal argument between a boyfriend and girlfriend. No further action was required, police said.
