Thomas L. Anderson, 94, of DuBois died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016 at the DuBois Nursing Home.
Born May 3, 1921 in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Thomas A. and Irene (Langford) Anderson.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy as a signalman during World War II in the European Theatre.
On June 1, 1946, he married Dorothy S. (Watt) Anderson. She preceded him in death in December of 2009.
He retired as treasurer of Bessemer and Lake Erie Railroad after 43 years of service, a subsidiary of the U.S. Steel Corp.
He was a long-time member of the Board of Directors of the Bessemer System Federal Credit Union. He was also an avid golfer and bowler.
He is survived by a son, Thomas L. Anderson Jr. and his wife, Linda of DuBois; three grandchildren, Michele Joseph and her husband, David, Tracie Shannon and her husband, Dennis and Aimee Megargee and her husband, Michael; and five great-grandchildren, McKenzie and Logan Shannon, Emily Joseph and Elizabeth and Alexis Megargee.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Albert, Margaret, Lawrence, Mary and Robert.
Friends will be received from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. Sunday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Felt officiating.
Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard from the funeral home.
Burial will be in Jefferson Memorial Park in Pittsburgh.
