MORRISDALE — The Clearfield Bison wrestling team will be competing in the 1st Annual Ultimate Warrior Wrestling Tournament at West Branch High School on Friday and Saturday.
226 wrestlers from 21 teams representing half of the PIAA’s 12 Districts will converge on the Allport Cutoff this weekend in what shapes up to be a great warm up for the soon approaching post-season.
The 21 teams and the district that they hail from are as follows: Altoona-6, Ambridge-7, Bellwood-Antis-6, Blairsville-6, Brockway-9, Clearfield-9, Dallastown-3, Freedom-7, Hickory-10, Johnsonburg-9, Juniata-6, Juniata Valley-6, Marion Center-6, Moshannon Valley-6, Ridgway-9, Shippensburg-3, St. Joseph’s Catholic-6, Tyrone-6, West Branch-6, West Shamokin-7, and Wilson-11.
The number one seeds, with records as of the Wednesday night seed meeting, and school, are as follows:

Manley is a returning PIAA state runner-up, while Komara and Olson placed fifth and sixth, respectively, at the state tourney last year.
Other top-8 seeds for Clearfield are Matt Ryan (16-7) sixth at 106, Jude Pallo (13-10) fifth at 113, Hunter Blake (13-6) seventh at 126, Josiah McClarren (13-9) third at 132, Tallin Norris (11-11) sixth at 145, Zane Morgan (11-13) sixth at 160, Levi Wisor (12-8) fourth at 182, Nate Lash (15-9) third at 220, and Hunter Bumbarger (10-6) seventh at 285.
Action gets underway on Friday afternoon at 3:30 with the pigtail round. The preliminary round of 16 will begin at 4:00, with the first round of consolations to commence at about 6:00, and the second round of consolations and quarterfinals taking place at approximately 7:15 to finish up the first session of wrestling.
Saturday morning will begin at 9:00 with the third round of consolations. The semifinals and consolation quarterfinals should then start at around 11:00, with the consolation semis finishing off the morning session at around 1:30.
The last session will be comprised of the consolation final medal matches for third, fifth, and seventh places beginning at 4:30. The Parade of Champions and championship finals will then start at approximately 6:00.
Admission to Friday’s wrestling is $8 for adults and $4 for students. Each of the two sessions on Saturday carry a $7 adult price tag and $4 for students. Or “all-session” passes can be purchased at the door for $20 for adults and $10 for students.
