James E. Mauk, 78, of Treasure Lake, DuBois, died Monday, Jan. 25, 2016 at his home.
Born Feb. 12, 1937, he was the son of the late James B. and Florence K. (Waggett) Mauk.
On Sept. 4, 1959 in Dubois, he married Nancy L. Burns. She survives.
Mr. Mauk was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He retired from the Pennsylvania State Police after more than 18 years of service. He also worked at Brockway Glass for 10 years and the Department of the Auditor General for seven years.
He was a member of the George D. Montgomery American Legion Post 17, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 813 and the Tin Can Sailors Association.
Mr. Mauk is survived by a son, James A. Mauk and his wife, Teri of Bushkill; a daughter, Lori L. Miller and her fiancé, Donald Zameroski of DuBois; and a granddaughter, Kacie Miller.
He was preceded in death by his brother, William Mauk.
There will be no visitation.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, at the Lakeside United Methodist Church with Pastor Robert Zilhaver officiating.
Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard from the church.
