Russell M. Beish Jr., 77, of Wallaceton died Monday, Jan. 18, 2016 at Select Specialty Hospital, Harrisburg.
Born July 18, 1938, he was the son of the late Russell M. Sr. and Helen Grace Husted Beish.
Mr. Beish was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served during the Vietnam War as an SP4. He was a member of the Mosquito Creek Sportsmen’s Club, Frenchville.
He married Charlotte A. Knepp Beish on Sept. 14, 1956 in Wallaceton. She preceded him in death on March 8, 2008.
He is survived by his son, Kevin Beish Sr. and his wife, Vicky Marusschak Beish of West Decatur; his grandchildren, Kevin Beish Jr. and his wife, Crystal of Clearfield and Kristie Beish of Duncansville; his great-grandson, Russell Beish; and his great-granddaughters, Sarahmae Alice Beish and Monica Rose Wright.
Mr. Beish is also survived by six sisters, Sarah Milligan and Janet Kramer, both of Wallaceton, Cora Wisor of Philipsburg, Nancy Jordan and her husband, Thomas of Morrisdale, Hazel Platzer and her husband, George of Hyde and Agnes Knepp of West Decatur; his brother, Raymond Beish of Wallaceton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to show great gratitude to Mr. Beish’s niece, Sherri Ogden of North Carolina.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Rusty Lee Beish; his step-grandson, Eli Marusschak; his brother, Alvin Beish; and his sister, Ida Mae Riggleman.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Strange & Weaver Funeral Home, Morrisdale, with the Rev. Robert Socash officiating. Burial will be in Mock’s Hill Cemetery, West Decatur.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
