State police at Clearfield

• State police investigated an alleged incident of burglary and criminal mischief that occurred at a vacant property on Main Street in Bradford Township. On an unknown date, someone allegedly forced open a side entrance door to a residence. It is unknown at this time if anything was stolen from inside. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
• State police investigated an alleged incident of theft by unlawful taking that occurred sometime between Jan. 12 and Thursday in Decatur Township. During the incident, someone allegedly stole the victim’s handicap placard from her vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
• State police responded an alleged incident of burglary that occurred Jan. 8 at an apartment on Hannah Street in Houtzdale Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly forcibly entered the victim’s residence. However, nothing was taken from inside, state police said. State police are continuing their investigation at this time.
• State police responded to an accident that occurred Sunday at the intersection of Friendly Acres and Haytown roads in Penn Township. Further, a Grampian man is suspected of driving while under the influence at the time of the accident. Charges have been filed through the district court, state police said.
• State police investigated an alleged incident of theft that occurred Sunday on Cherry Corner Road in Greenwood Township. During the incident, someone allegedly removed 100 gallons of home heating fuel and a cord of firewood that belonged to the victim. The total value of the stolen items is estimated at $225, and the incident remains under investigation at this time, state police said.

State police at DuBois

• State police investigated an incident of DUI that occurred Saturday on Sandstone Drive in Washington Township. During the incident, a Falls Creek man was stopped for several summary traffic violations. While speaking with him, state police allegedly detected a strong odor of alcohol on his breath. He was subsequently arrested for DUI and other summary offenses, which are pending blood test results.
• State police investigated an alleged incident of theft/forgery that occurred Oct. 8, 2015 on Main Street in Falls Creek Borough. Further, the victim prepared a personal check for a school fundraiser and then provided it to the suspect’s daughter. The suspect allegedly altered the amount and cashed it.
• State police investigated an alleged incident of theft by unlawful taking that occurred Saturday or Sunday on Main Street in Knox Township. During the incident, someone allegedly stole the victim’s private property sign affixed to a wooden stake from her yard. State police at Philipsburg

• State police received a report about an alleged incident of theft from a motor vehicle that occurred sometime between Jan. 8 and Jan. 10 on Sawmill Road in Halfmoon Township. During the incident, someone allegedly gained access to the victim’s vehicle and removed several fishing rods, reels and spools of fly line. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Philipsburg at 814-342-3370.
• State police received a report about an alleged sexual assault that occurred sometime between July 1, 2015 and Aug. 31, 2015 in Philipsburg Borough. Further, state police were contacted by an area hospital regarding the victim who had received treatment and who allegedly admitted to being sexually assaulted by a person known to her about five months prior. State police are continuing their investigation at this time.

State police at Punxsutawney

• State police received a report about an alleged incident of retail theft that occurred Jan. 13 at Wal-Mart in Young Township. It remains under investigation at this time, state police said.
• On Friday state police responded to a complaint for an alleged indirect criminal contempt violation of a Protection from Abuse Order on Howe Road in Union Township. Upon investigation state police determined it was unfounded and there wasn’t a violation.

Clearfield Borough

• Police observed a male walking on East Market Street who had warrants for his arrest.  The male was taken into custody and turned over to the Sheriff’s Department, police said.
• Police and the Sheriff’s Department served arrest warrants on two individuals on Clearfield Street.  While at the residence, three others were also found to have warrants. All individuals with warrants were taken into custody, police said.
• Police received a request to check the welfare of a person on Reed Street.  Upon arrival police found everything to be OK.
• Police had keys turned in that were found in the area of East Market Street.
• Police responded to an alarm at Penn Highlands.  It was set off accidentally by an employee, police said.
• Police responded to the area of East Market and Third streets for a report about a hit-and-run accident. Upon arrival police found debris on the roadway and both parties had left the scene. Police were able to identify those involved in the accident.
• Police responded to Margaretta Street for a disturbance between two males.  Police were able to get two individuals calmed down.
• Police were advised about a fire alarm at a local business. The fire department responded and determined that there wasn’t a fire, police said.
• Police stopped a male for allegedly driving the wrong way on a one-way street and determined he was intoxicated.  The male was arrested for DUI, police said.
• Police received a report about a possible theft between family members.  It remains under investigation, police said.
• Police issued several parking tickets for vehicles parked more than 48 hours on the streets without moving.

Lawrence Township

• Police received a report about the alleged theft of medication from an Edgewood resident.
• Police received a report about the alleged theft of mail that occurred in Lawrence Township. During the incident, someone allegedly entered the victim’s porch and removed a postal package from the mailbox. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
• Police responded to an alleged incident of theft that occurred on Turnpike Avenue.
• Police received a report about an alleged disturbance in the area of Jones Lane.
• Clearfield Borough police were assisted with a warrant service.
• Police conducted a warrant service on a female for retail theft.
• Police received a report about an alleged drug violation.
• Police received a report about a vehicle off of the roadway on River Road.
• Police received a report about an alleged assault that occurred at Wal-Mart. It remains under investigation at this time, police said.
• Police responded to an alleged verbal domestic dispute at a residence along Turnpike Avenue Extension. It was resolved without criminal charges, police said.
• Police received a report about wanted persons at Lawrence Park Village.
• Police received a report about an alleged incident of retail theft that occurred at Wal-Mart.
• Police received a report about an alleged incident of trespassing that occurred on Clarendon Avenue.
• Police received a report about an alarm at Long John Silvers.
• Police received a report about the alleged theft of lost or mislaid property at Sheetz.
• Police received a report about an alleged domestic dispute on Joseph Road.
• Police received a report about a deer that was struck on Daisy Street Extension.
• Police are investigating an alleged burglary that occurred on McPherson Road. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
• Police received a report about an alleged incident of criminal mischief that occurred on Clarendon Avenue.

Decatur Township

• Police responded to a single-vehicle accident on Old Route 322. Further, the operator of a vehicle lost control on the icy roadway and went into an embankment. Towing services assisted at the scene, police said.
• A known male allegedly fled from police on Old Route 322 and Old Erie Pike after they attempted to stop him for operating an all-terrain vehicle on the roadway.
• Police recovered medical equipment that was held in a storage shed. It appeared to be several years old, and police contacted the owner.
• Police received a report about a male who was in a wheelchair in the middle of the roadway on Route 53. Police located the male and asked him not to ride his wheelchair in the middle of a busy roadway.
• Police received a complaint while a vehicle was parked at Advanced Auto in Philipsburg. Police contacted the owner of the vehicle.
• Police received a complaint about a shed and garage that had allegedly been broken into off of Keystone Hill Road.
• Police questioned a male who was suspected of driving off the roadway and hitting mailboxes on Clover Street. He allegedly admitted to doing so after being presented with evidence.

DuBois City

• Police received a report about an activated alarm Friday at Tractor Supply on Beaver Drive. Upon arrival police found everything to be OK.
• On Saturday police stopped a vehicle traveling north on South Main Street for its operator committing traffic violations. Upon speaking with the DuBois woman, police allegedly detected an odor of alcohol. After conducing field sobriety tests, police arrested her for DUI. Charges are currently pending toxicology results, police said.
• Police received a report about an activated alarm Saturday at Tractor Supply on Beaver Drive. While en route to the scene, police were cancelled by the key holder.
• On Sunday police stopped a vehicle at the intersection of North Brady Street and West Park Avenue after its operator committed a traffic violation. Upon speaking with the Reynoldsville man, police allegedly detected an odor of alcohol. After conducting field sobriety tests, he was arrested for DUI. Charges are currently pending toxicology results, police said.
• Police responded to a two-vehicle accident Sunday at the intersection of West Long Avenue and Chestnut Street. A vehicle operated by a DuBois woman was stopped when it was rear-ended by another vehicle, also operated by a DuBois woman. During the investigation, police found the second vehicle slid on the snow and ice and wasn’t able to stop to avoid impact. One passenger was injured and transported by personal vehicle for treatment; one vehicle was towed from the scene, police said. The DuBois woman who operated the second vehicle was cited for the accident.

Sandy Township

• On Friday police were dispatched to a Behringer Highway address for an Onstar alarm, and the alarm company was unable to get a response from the driver. Upon arrival it was found that the car was for sale, and the button was pushed accidentally while someone was looking at the vehicle, police said.
• Police received a report about a false alarm at Domtar on Friday.
• Police were dispatched to an Oklahoma Salem Road residence Saturday to investigate a 9-1-1 hang-up call. Upon investigation it was determined to be accidental, police said.
• On Saturday a 45-year-old Treasure Lake man was allegedly caught outside the Lakeview Lodge in Treasure Lake with a small amount of marijuana and various paraphernalia.
• Police received a report about a young man who was standing along the road and soliciting money Saturday. Upon arrival officers found the 19-year-old North Carolina man who told officers that he traveled to different areas pretending to be homeless and to solicit money.  The man was asked to leave the area, police said.
• A 67-year-old Coal Run Lane woman reported that her Black Lab was missing on Sunday.
• On Sunday police received a report about an elderly woman who had fallen prey to a scam and sent a total of $12,500 to someone claiming to be with the Publishers Clearing House. The scammers allegedly told the woman to send the money via various Western Union locations, and that it was for travel expenses so they could personally deliver her $500,000 winning check.
• An Edinger Road resident turned over a female beagle that he found at his residence on Sunday.
• A 16-year-old DuBois girl lost control of her vehicle Sunday on Coral Reef Road in Treasure Lake, causing it to wreck. No injuries were reported and the vehicle was towed from the scene, police said.
