CLARION- The Curwensville Golden Tide wrestling team traveled to Clarion Thursday night to battle the Bobcats. In the end, it was a night of frustration for the Tide, losing to Clarion 54-21.
Picking up wins for the Tide were Shae Bloom (12-1), with a 15-0 technical fall at 160, and Ben Junod (11-3) at 170, with a 13-0 major decision.
Receiving forfeits for the Golden Tide were Blake Passarelli (12-1) at 113 and James Lee (8-6) at 285.
Bloom, Junod and Lee are seniors while Passarelli is just a freshman.
Tide head coach Dean Swatsworth said after the match, “Clarion is a tough and experienced team and I thought we matched up well tonight, but we didn’t get the outcome that we wanted. We need to start taking steps forward to find the way to win. We need to get back at it and keeping working hard in the room.”
The Tide, now 5-5 on the season, won’t wrestle again until next Friday when they take a road rip to Flinton to meet up with the Glendale Vikings.
