Imogene L. Meyer, 91, of Philipsburg and formerly of Osceola Mills, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016 at Windy Hill Village in Philipsburg.
Born March 19, 1924 in Osceola Mills, (Decatur Township), she was the daughter of the late Benjamin F. and Elizabeth (Chronister) Hughes.
She married Daniel H. Meyer on Dec. 17, 1947 in Osceola Mills. He preceded her in death on March 29, 2000.
Mrs. Meyer was a member of the Centre United Methodist Church in RD Osceola Mills. Â She was retired from the Clearfield Hospital as a registered nurse.
She was a 1942 graduate of the former Osceola Mills High School and a 1945 graduate of the former Philipsburg State Hospital School of Nursing.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jane Brice and two brothers, Edward and Raymond Hughes.
Mrs. Meyer is survived by three daughters, Cheryl Lawhead and her husband, Robert of Osceola Mills, Susan Callahan of Gettysburg and Sally Cox and her husband, Wilbur of Bladen, Neb.
She is survived by two sisters, Loretta Carson and Esther Smith, both of Philipsburg and six grandchildren, Cheryl Ann Kramer and her husband, Mark, Alice Ford and her husband, Mike, Amy Meyer, Nate Cox and his wife, Darcy, Luke Cox and his wife, Andrea and Jake Cox and his wife Jessica.
She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren, Amanda Cox, Becky Cox, Nick Apteberry, Riley Apteberry, Trinity Cox, Addi Cox, Elizabeth Cox, Alexandria Cox, Hannah Kramer Abigale Kramer and Abigail Ford and two sisters-in-law, Theone Hughes and Martha Hughes.
At Mrs. Meyer’s request, a graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at the Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills. There will be no visitation.
