Thelma Jean Zimmerman, 72, of Luthersburg died Thursday, Dec. 24, 2015.
Mrs. Zimmerman was born Feb. 25, 1943, the daughter of Bryce F. and Yvonne M. (Kriner) Hartzfeld.
She was a long-time employee of Kennedy Transfer Inc. She enjoyed working for Steve Kennedy and his family.
Mrs. Zimmerman was a member of the St. Luke’s United Church of Christ, Luthersburg. She was active in the Women’s Guild.
She was a former leader for scouts. She also enjoyed doing ceramic crafts as Christmas gifts.
Mrs. Zimmerman is survived by her beloved sons, William J. Jr. and his wife, Cathy, Frank L. and his wife, Kelly Jo and Bryce F. and his wife, Rona.
She loved her six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Evelyn Cowan and her husband, Thomas, Maxine Cramer and Karen Haag and her husband, Andrew.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, William J. “Hup Hup” Zimmerman Sr., who died Nov. 17, 2008.
Honoring Mrs. Zimmerman’s wishes, there will be no public visitation.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016 at St. Luke’s United Church of Christ, with Pastor Robert Newell officiating assisted by Kristen Nauman, Mrs. Zimmerman’s great-niece.
Burial will be in St. Luke’s Cemetery.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the St. Luke’s United Church of Christ Memorial Fund, 4229 Golden Yoke Rd., Luthersburg, PA 15848 or the charity of the donor’s choice.
