A Belgian man has become the ninth person to be arrested in connection with the terrorist attacks in Paris that killed 130 people.
Abdoullah C., who was born in 1985, was arrested on Tuesday, according to a statement Thursday from the Belgian Federal Prosecutor’s Office.
The statement said the investigating judge delivered an arrest warrant against the suspect for terrorist murders and participation in the activities of a terrorist organization.
He is believed to have had several contacts with Hasna Ait Boulahcen, who died in a police siege in the Paris suburb of Saint-Denis on November 18. She was the niece of Abdelhamid Abaaoud, who participated in the attacks, which took place on November 13.
Abaaoud also died during the police siege in Saint-Denis.
Abdoullah C.’s contacts with Ait Boulahcen allegedly took place between the time of the Paris attacks and her death in Saint-Denis.
A hearing will be held Thursday to determine how long Abdoullah C. will be detained, according to the statement.
