Pauline Raab, chief executive officer of Cen-Clear Child Services Inc., has announced the award of a grant from Ronald McDonald House Charities of Mid-Penn.
The grant will be used to support Project PLACE (Promoting Literacy through Adult/Child Education), an early childhood literacy initiative.
Project PLACE uses an in-home approach to increase the amount of time parents spend reading to their children. As part of this initiative, children are provided books to incorporate into or start their own home library.
Funds from Ronald McDonald House Charities will provide a portion of the books that are given to the 653 children and their families enrolled in Cen-Clear Head Start programs across Centre and Clearfield counties.
According to Raab, “Ronald McDonald House Charities has been a continued supporter of Project P.L.A.C.E. since 2004, and their partnership has been a key factor in the huge success of this initiative.”
Cen-Clear provides services in all or parts of twelve counties through its Early Childhood, Behavioral Health and Community Service Divisions.
