Jeb Bush’s timidity, Ted Cruz’s struggles with likeability, Chris Christie’s bombast and Donald Trump’s swagger were lampooned on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live.”
The sketch comedy show offered its take on CNN’s Republican presidential debate, held Tuesday night. It cast Bush’s efforts to confront Trump as flailing, and featured Cruz informing ISIS that the terror group wouldn’t like him because, well, no one likes him.
It dismissed Rand Paul, with the mock-moderator playing CNN’s Wolf Blitzer dismissing the portrayal of Paul attempting to cut into the debate by informing him that they don’t accept comments from the audience.
SNL also zinged the Democratic presidential front-runner, Hillary Clinton. Co-hosts and show alums Tina Fey and Amy Poehler reprised their roles, respectively, as Sarah Palin and the 2008 version of candidate Hillary Clinton. They met up with current Clinton SNL impersonator Kate McKinnon.
