CLEARFIELD – A Clearfield woman accused of restraining a man and assaulting him in her apartment pleaded guilty Friday during plea and sentencing court.
Carlea Marie Patterson, 36, was sentenced by Judge Paul E. Cherry to 30 days to one year in jail and one year consecutive probation for simple assault and harassment.
She was ordered to complete anger management counseling and 50 hours of community service. She was fined $250 plus costs and must pay $414.50 in restitution.
The charges stem from an incident on May 4 in Curwensville Borough.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m., Patterson tied up the victim on her bed with an extension cord before hitting him on the head with a black lamp causing a laceration.
She ripped the earrings out of each of his ears and ripped piercings out of his nipples with a screwdriver causing redness and bleeding. Using scissors she carved the name “Ana” into his right arm and left leg.
She also scratched his face several times with the scissors and inserted a flat headed screwdriver into his private area, causing bleeding.
Later that afternoon she untied him and stated “you’re gonna slice my throat, or else I’m gonna slice yours and kill you.”
The victim said he took the bloody sheets and clothes before fleeing the apartment. He put the items into a nearby dumpster. He then borrowed a cell phone from a man on the street to call his mother who picked him up and took him to her residence in Philipsburg. He was then transported by ambulance to Nittany Hospital where he was treated and released.
