State police at Philipsburg
- State police received a report about an alleged incident of access device fraud that occurred Dec. 10 at the Sheetz Convenience Store in Patton Township. During the incident, an African-American male allegedly used the victim’s debit card account numbers at the store. It was allegedly done without the victim’s permission or knowledge to purchase several cartons of cigarettes. State police are continuing their investigation at this time.
Clearfield Borough
- Police responded to a Merrill Street address for an apparent psychological emergency. Further, police spoke to a juvenile at the scene who showed indications of being depressed. A crisis worker arrived at the scene to speak with the family, police said.
- Police received a report about a minor accident that occurred at the intersection of West Market Street and Gulich Avenue. No injuries were reported as a result, and the vehicles were driven from the scene, police said.
- Police received a report about a decorative light that was allegedly removed from the yard of a Nichols Street resident.
- Police were called to Banks Street to check the welfare of a male. Police found the male to be OK.
- Police were called to River Road for a suspicious male. Police made contact with the male and asked him to leave that area.
- Police are investigating an alleged physical altercation that occurred at Lower Witmer Park.
- Police assisted Lawrence Township police and State Parole in attempting to locate a wanted person who was in the area.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment and stalking. It remains under investigation at this time, police said.
- Police received a report about a three-vehicle accident that occurred in front of Long John Silvers. No injuries were reported as a result, and the vehicles were drivable, police said.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of criminal mischief that occurred in the Primitive Me parking lot.
- Police received a report about an alleged domestic dispute on River Road.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of disorderly conduct that occurred at the Clearfield Area Junior-Senior High School. It remains under investigation at this time, police said.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of criminal mischief that occurred on Hill Street. It remains under investigation at this time, police said.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of disorderly conduct that occurred at the Economy Inn.
DuBois City
- Police were requested Wednesday to contact a female about an alleged incident that occurred in the 100 block of West DuBois Avenue. She told police her son was harassed during a custody exchange. Upon investigation police allegedly determined it wasn’t a “one-sided” incident of harassment. Police asked the parties to cease their behavior.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of burglary Wednesday in the 300 block of New Street. The property owner told police that someone broke into a building for sale and took several times. Police are continuing their investigation at this time.
- Police received a report about a hit-and-run accident that occurred Wednesday in the parking lot of the Medical Arts Building on Hospital Avenue. The vehicle owner told police that his vehicle was damaged while he was inside. However, upon review of surveillance video, police determined damage to the vehicle didn’t occur in the parking lot.
- On Wednesday police were dispatched to Giant Eagle on North Main Street for a female who was allegedly attempting to pick up another person’s prescription. The female, according to police, was stopped and identified, and the incident remains under investigation at this time.
- Police received a report about a phone scam on Wednesday. A resident told police they had received a voicemail from a male who claimed to be with the IRS. The caller allegedly threatened to file a lawsuit if he didn’t respond. Police called the phone number back, and a male claimed to be in Pakistan. The male also allegedly admitted to scamming people. Police would like to warn residents that scams have been on the rise.
- Police were dispatched to a noise complaint Wednesday on East Long Avenue. Police made contact with the owner of the building, and resolved the issue without incident.
- On Wednesday police were dispatched to the intersection of South State Street and West Washington Avenue for a report about all-terrain vehicles being driven on the roadways. Police were unable to locate the ATVs upon arrival in the area.
