DUBOIS – The BUDS Gardeners will hold their annual Christmas gift wrapping fundraiser from Dec. 18-24.
Gift wrapping begins every day at 10 a.m., except for Sunday when it starts at 1 p.m. Closing is at 9 p.m. every day except for Dec. 24 when it is at 4 p.m.
People are please asked to consider helping out by bringing gifts to the DuBois Mall between Claire’s and Dave Rossi Jewelers near JC Penney.
All wrapping materials are provided by the BUDS Gardeners. Skilled volunteer wrappers are welcome to help out.
All donations go to gardening projects in the DuBois area and for public education about gardening and nature.
A BUDS Gardeners annual scholarship goes to someone who wants to attend classes to become a Penn State Master Gardener.
Master Gardeners serve the gardening public for free by giving out researched university-level horticultural information.
This past summer, funds also went to adding plants to beds at Charlie’s Alternators and street pots, adding street fountains and raising Monarch Butterflies for public release.
For the past 11 years, the BUDS Gardeners have spent the week before Christmas wrapping gifts for the public as part of their fundraising for the coming year.
Many of the members have been gift wrapping at the DuBois Mall for 35 years or more for one charitable organization or another.
The wrapping cost is by donation.
