George Rodney ‘Rod’ Seger, 67, of Curwensville died Monday, Dec. 14, 2015 at his home.
He was born June 28, 1948, a son of the late George Samuel and Shirley (Thomas) Seger.
He was most recently employed at the Wal-Mart Distribution Center, Woodland. He had also been employed at McDonald Land and Mining.
Mr. Seger loved old cars and going to car shows. He will be fondly remembered for always tinkering with something mechanically and being active outside.
He attended the First Baptist Church, Curwensville. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force from 1967-1971, he served two deployments during Vietnam.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Louise (Barrett) Seger, to whom he was wed May 20, 1972 in Ansonville.
Mr. Seger is survived by two children, Courtney Raybuck and her husband, Dustin of DuBois and Matthew Seger and his wife, Jackie of Curwensville and two grandchildren, Taylor Seger and Lauren Tobias.
He is also survived by three sisters and a brother, Carole Tormey and her husband, Ralph of Limestone, Tenn., Barbara Lloyd and her husband, Harley of Erwin, Tenn., Scott Seger and his wife, Lorie of Curwensville and Crystal Brunetti and her husband, John of Olanta.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ann Seger.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church, Curwensville, with the Rev. Daniel M. Osterhout officiating.
Friends will be received from 2:30 p.m. – 3 p.m. Sunday at the church.
Military honors will be accorded at the church by members of the Clearfield VFW and American Legion Honor Guard.
