Alfred W. Majewsky, 80, of Houtzdale died Friday, Dec. 11, 2015 at his home.
Born July 27, 1935, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Anna (Kawa) Majewsky.
He married Janice B. (Escott) Majewsky on July 13, 1957 in Houtzdale. She preceded him in death on Nov. 5, 2012.
Mr. Majewsky was a member of the Houtzdale United Methodist Church.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Â He was a lifetime member of the Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) of Altoona and a member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 65 of DuBois and of the Houtzdale American Legion Freeberg Post No. 591.
He was a retired coal miner for K & J Coal Co. in Westover and he received his GED.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers.
Mr. Majewsky is survived by two sons, Edmund C. Majewsky and Gregory A. Majewsky, both of Houtzdale; two grandchildren, Benjamin J. Majewsky and Gregory T. Majewsky; a niece, Susan Majewsky of Erie; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
At the request of Alfred Majewsky, there will be no viewing or funeral service.
Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Osceola Mills is in charge of arrangements.
