Carly Fiorina said she will use technology — and votes by smart phones — to solve issues such as immigration and the economy if elected president.
“The technology for a citizen government exists. There’s an app for this actually,” the former CEO of Hewlett-Packard said Wednesday on CNN’s “New Day.” “We need to use technology to reengage citizens in the process of their government.”
“The political class has ruled this country along with an inept corrupt government bureaucracy for far too long,” she added. “People know it and they’re tired of it.”
The former executive said she’ll ask voters to influence the budget with their smart phones.
“I’m going to go into the Oval Office every single week. I’m going to ask the American people to take out their smart phones and I will say, ‘Do you think we finally ought to force government to justify every dollar so we can cut any dollar and move any dollar? Press 1 for yes. Press 2 for no,'” Fiorina said.
Technology should play a huge role in immigration issues as well, she said.
“Securing the border takes money, manpower, technology, but mostly it takes leadership and political will power,” Fiorina said. “This is the most sophisticated technological nation on the planet and we can’t create an employer verification system that works? Of course we can.”
“Our bureaucracy in government has become completely inept. We know that. The people know that,” she added.
