VCCCLEARFIELD – Staff members at Visit Clearfield County (VCC) have released the weekly events for Dec. 4-10.

Ritz Theater, downtown Clearfield

Monday-Sunday

The theater’s lobby opens at 6:30 p.m. You can grab some popcorn, even if you cannot attend the movie showings. For movies and show times, please call 814-765-5835. Prices are $6 for adults and $4 for children (12 years and under) and senior citizens (60 years and older).

Friday, Dec. 4

Camp Sandstone

Every time a person stays at Camp Sandstone in 2015, they receive a chance to win one free night stay in 2016. At the end of the year, the staff members will draw one name. Camp Sandstone is a rustic cabin rental with a private setting on five acres of wooded pines. It will comfortably sleep four guests and is pet friendly. Victorian Christmas Tours

Hagarty Mansion

The Victorian Christmas tours will be held Dec. 4-6, Dec. 11-13, Dec. 18-20, Dec. 25-27 and Jan. 1-3. Doors will open at 1 p.m. and close at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for children who are 12 years and under.

The mansion consists of 27 rooms and is decorated with 17 Victorian Christmas trees “with all the extras.” As well, mantles, stairways and chandeliers will be draped with garland, and the halls will be filled with sights, sounds and smells of the Christmas season.

Your self-guided tour will allow you to stroll through the mansion at your own pace. There will be non-interactive actors along the way dressed in Victorian-themed costumes, and you may run into a few ghostly spirits from Christmas Past.

Taste of the Town Spirit Tour

Downtown Clearfield

The Clearfield Revitalization Corp. (CRC) will host its annual Taste of the Town Spirit Tour from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4 in downtown Clearfield. It has partnered with local wineries and each participating business will offer a different beverage sample and complimentary food. There will also be exclusive business specials for tour participants. Only 300 tickets will be sold for the wine tour, and tickets are $25; tickets can be purchased at Jim’s Sports Center, Zalno Jewelers, Clearfield Pharmacy and the CRC office. The Clearfield Elks will host an after party with entertainment.

A Charlie Brown Christmas

Clearfield Arts Studio Theatre

The Clearfield Arts Studio Theatre will present A Charlie Brown Christmas on Dec. 3-5 and Dec. 10-12. Curtain time is 7 p.m. for each performance, and tickets are $10.

1940’s Radio Hour

Reitz Theater, DuBois

Full of 1940’s music, dancing and old-time sound effects. The play portraits the final holiday broadcast of the Mutual Manhatten Variety Cavalcade on the New York radio station WOV in December of 1942. It will be performed Dec. 4-6 at 7:30 p.m.; there will also be a 2 p.m. performance Dec. 6. For more information, visitwww.reitztheater.com.

Search for Peace Pageant

Curwensville United Methodist Church

The 56th annual Search for Peace Pageant will be present at the Curwensville United Methodist Church. It will be presented on Dec. 4 at 8 p.m., Dec. 5 at 4:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Dec. 6 at 4:30 p.m.

Search for Peace was written by the late Laura Wright and was presented for the first time in 1960. Wright wrote the script and selected accompanying music because she wanted a distinctive narrative to relate the story of the birth of Jesus Christ.

The pageant follows the events that preceded and followed his birth, as the main characters embark on personal journeys for inner peace.

Super Science Saturdays

Punxsutawney Weather Discovery Center

Participants will learn and have fun with simple experiments. The program is available from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, and regular admission is $5 per person. Pre-registration is not required. For more information, please call the center at 814-938-1000.

Clearfield YMCA Christmas Parade

Downtown Clearfield

The Clearfield YMCA’s third annual Christmas Parade will step off at 12 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5 in downtown Clearfield. After the parade, everyone is invited to have hot chocolate, cookies and to visit with Santa in the YMCA gym.  Parents will be able to take pictures of their children with Santa; each child will receive a stocking full of toys and candy.

Christmas Home and Business Tour

Toasted Monkey

Hailing from the Pacific northwest the internationally-acclaimed singer songwriter duo, Dave McGraw and Mandy Fer, will return to Oak Mountain Hideaway House Concerts.
